- Closely related to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy
- Multiple System Atrophy
- Cortico Basal Degeneration.
PSP, is often mis-diagnosed, usually as PD or MSA,
since in its early stages many of the symptoms of these three diseases can be remarkably similar; although clinically and
pathologically they are distinct and different diseases.
In some cases definitive diagnosis is only possible in
pathological brain tissue examination.
