The WMHA provides residential accommodation throughout County Wexford for individuals recovering or recovered from enduring mental illness. Accommodation ranges from shared responsibility single apartments to fully managed houses. The HSE employs over 50 full time staff in the provision of this service while the WMHA provides management and support facilities.

 

Residents are placed according to their needs and often transfer both within the service and to wholly independent living as they learn the life skills necessary to empower themselves to fully recover.

 

Residences are categorised into four distinct types and often provide specialist facilities within each class. There are:

HIGH SUPPORT RESIDENCES,

MEDIUM SUPPORT RESIDENCES,

LOW SUPPORT RESIDENCES and

INDEPENDENT LIVING.
